& so it begins...

today is the first of many ... Zack is on 2nd shift and I'm a "single mom" to Sophia. I'm REALLY excited for him to start this shift because he'll see some more action, but sad because Sophia & I are going to miss Daddy a lot when it's time for a walk, dinner time, bath time & snuggles at bed time. BUT, thank our lucky stars that every 4 days we get DADDY TIME as he'll have is two days off.

The weekends will be great because even though he'll leave at 3 for work, we'll at least get him all morning and for lunch!! All I know is that I'm so grateful to be married to a man who's committing his life to ensure others are safe - what a good hubster! :-)

thankful

i know thanksgiving is for being thankful, but i have a lot to be thankful for this holiday weekend...

1. i got out of work early today
2. i even got a little time to myself after work to clean up the house a bit
3. i have a three day weekend with my little baby pip
4. zack has the whole weekend off {minus monday}- but it's the first full weekend together in a while
5. we have wonderful family we'll be spending the weekend with
6. i will hopefully get to enjoy some sunshine saturday
7. i will get to meet a friend whom i have only talked to over facebook or the phone {welcome to the states!}
8. i get to eat delicious food on monday when my in-laws have a rockin' 4th party
9. i get to watch the fireworks for the first time with a family of my own this year
10. and last but not least ... life is great

Is it possible to just love and love and love that little baby more and more each day. I love her so much I can hardly stand it!!!!

ahhhhhh i love those cheeks

I know my other Mom friends can relate - but I CAN'T GET ENOUGH of kissing Sophia's chubby cheeks. They are delightful in every way. She's got the bluest eyes, the palest cream skin with the right amount of rosy on her cheeks. I'm just so in love with this little cupcake and can't believe she's mine, Forever.

Thank you to the wonderful people at Enfamil- due to your magical formula of Nutramigen, I have a happy little baby who smiles more than she fusses finally. She also babbles A TON, can now roll over, stand up on her own two feet {with some help from Mom & Dad of course}, and splish splashes around in her tub like she's never going to have another bath.

I'm so Lucky. Thank you Sophia for bringing endless sunshine to my life. I Love You

Again... I've been Missing in Action

Phew- what a task being a full-time working Mom... BUT I start a new job on Monday and it's going to allow me to be with Sophia so much more {at least an hour a day}, so I am really, really excited. Since going back to work and with Zack in the police academy- we've gone through a lot. I guess no one really prepares you for what is involved.

Add to it stress at my job- stress on Zack as the class sergeant, and a fussy, fussy, FUSSY baby- and it would make anyone's nerves a little frazzled to say the least. But, I'm happy to say that with a little venting to some close friends {thank you ladies}, the academy over, myself starting a new job Monday and some hopeful solutions for fussiness, things are back to normal. Not only has this huge stress-weight been lifted from us, I feel back to my normal self finally.

And finally this blissed out love fest that I've been wanting has arrived. Of course, there were many happy moments in the last four months {I mean, ALOT of them} but somehow those few crazy moments took over. Sophia is spending more time smiling and babbling and we're FINALLY getting on this whole schedule train, paired with new formula and hopefully we have a solution. And Zack, well I love him more than I ever have.

Thanks for listening :-) I think it's healthy to discuss these things. Somewhere between the new-Mom adjusting and now, I'm so completely in love with my life, my husband our our little pink cupcake Pip. Thank you God for gracing me with the best life I can have.

where does the time go???

So... where does the time go? Sophia is going to be 3 months old next week and 12 weeks on Wednesday, IT'S NUTS! All is well here in the Burns Household... Zack has only another few weeks of the Police Academy and then he'll be working full time as a police officer and I'm just trucking along at work like usual.

We survived Sophia's first Easter without much candy... this will probably be the only year we're not loaded up with mini Cadbury eggs, chocolate bunnies and plastic Easter Eggs hidden all over. Now that Sophia is smiling up a storm, she's so much fun. Babbles Babbles Babbles all day long! Only sleeping through the night some of the time and just being her cute little self {most of the time}.

While tiring and exhausting, motherhood is AMAZING and I'm loving every moment of watching my little pipsqueak grow into a cute little infant. I'm so lucky... I could kiss those kissable chubby cheeks all day long- ahhhhh the bliss of motherhood. It doesn't get better than this!

i know ... i've been MIA

i know i know- i've been totally MIA from my little cupcake blog. it's been nuts being a working mom of a newborn! i can't believe it though, she's already 9 1/2 weeks and she'll be 10 weeks on wednesday. however, all i can say is that motherhood gets more and more amazing as each day goes by. i feel so blessed. now that we have her on soy formula and we've got her on antibiotics for her ear infection... she's so much happier. she's just about smiling {we've squeaked a few out of her... sooooooooo cute!} and i just can't wait to see her little personality unfold as the next few months come by!

i just love that little munchkin with my whole being. i'd go to the ends of the earth for you my little sophia
