where does the time go???

So... where does the time go? Sophia is going to be 3 months old next week and 12 weeks on Wednesday, IT'S NUTS! All is well here in the Burns Household... Zack has only another few weeks of the Police Academy and then he'll be working full time as a police officer and I'm just trucking along at work like usual.

We survived Sophia's first Easter without much candy... this will probably be the only year we're not loaded up with mini Cadbury eggs, chocolate bunnies and plastic Easter Eggs hidden all over. Now that Sophia is smiling up a storm, she's so much fun. Babbles Babbles Babbles all day long! Only sleeping through the night some of the time and just being her cute little self {most of the time}.

While tiring and exhausting, motherhood is AMAZING and I'm loving every moment of watching my little pipsqueak grow into a cute little infant. I'm so lucky... I could kiss those kissable chubby cheeks all day long- ahhhhh the bliss of motherhood. It doesn't get better than this!

xo, time for bed.

i know ... i've been MIA

i know i know- i've been totally MIA from my little cupcake blog. it's been nuts being a working mom of a newborn! i can't believe it though, she's already 9 1/2 weeks and she'll be 10 weeks on wednesday. however, all i can say is that motherhood gets more and more amazing as each day goes by. i feel so blessed. now that we have her on soy formula and we've got her on antibiotics for her ear infection... she's so much happier. she's just about smiling {we've squeaked a few out of her... sooooooooo cute!} and i just can't wait to see her little personality unfold as the next few months come by!

i just love that little munchkin with my whole being. i'd go to the ends of the earth for you my little sophia

week one down

Phew... it was a tough week. Monday was day #1 where Sophia went to daycare and I went to work. I cried in the days leading up to it, cried that morning on Zack as he hugged me, and cried on the way to bring her. It was so hard ... I mean, those chubby cheeks, the pouty little lips, her baby soft hands and wiggly little toes- how in the world was I going to manage to leave it all for a whole 8 hour workday?  & not just one workday- 5 in a row...

So there she stayed at daycare and off I went to work ... it was tough, I missed her so much- but I did only call once. At the end of the week, she did so well, and she's even the favorite of Ms. Susan {who is the only one who will feed her because she just LOVES Sophia and wont let anyone else feed her! YAY- Sophia's a daycare favorite}.

I will admit, it's nice to have a break- but the time I spend with her is so much more what I love to do. But, this mama's got to work so I am just going to have to admire her beautiful, gorgeous little face from my desk. But I will tell you what- the end of the day when I get to drive and get her, is like heaven. It makes 5 o'clock that much sweeter!

dear sophia

thank you for gracing me with your life & constant endless love. the bond i share with you is indescribable and i love you forever and always. the way you gaze up at me when i'm feeding you with those baby blues overtakes me with love every time and i am eternally grateful to God for sharing you with me.

life. is. complete. xoxo, mommy

My Favorite Bottles!

Anyone who has a  colic or gassy baby TRY THESE BOTTLES! Dr. Brown's is by far the best bottle out there, paired with Enfamil 'Gentlease' formula {guaranteed to ease fussiness & gas within 24 hours when used exclusively} are just music to this mama's ears... I've definitely recommended these bottles to more than one person at Babies R Us :-) hahaha, does that really surprise you though?

And can we hear it for the best 'new' invention... the same shape as the Avent Soothie passi, but smaller and called the Gumdrop, allowing that cute little button nose to show as baby happily dreams away... has anyone else used these- LOVE them!

Monday's almost here.... oh boy

I can't believe that these amazingly blissful and full of love 7 weeks are almost up and I return to the daily grind of work on Monday. Already. I think I may just cry ... while it will be so nice to get dressed and interact with adults, I am going to miss the bonding, snuggling and kissing that Sophia and I get to do during the normal 8 hour workday. I know she's going to a great daycare where she will she will be rocked, snuggled & loved- but it's another person doing all those things to her- am I going to make it through the week? Probably- but it's going to be so hard.... tears are forming already.

What is the best advice you Mom's can give me to cope? xoxo, angela

Okay... so here i go

So... I had a post, and then I deleted it somehow... go figure.

It's a miracle I'm even typing this right now- I'm not joking when I tell you that over the last six months I've attempted about six blogs and this is the first one that is actually making it to the world, successfully. With the recent arrival of Sophia and my new love for everything babies- I feel the need to journal my experience. The joys, the sleepless nights, the things I love about being a Mama....

Well it's 11:57 and the rest of the house is tucked into bed like little bugs all snug in a cozy little rug, so I am going to join them and head to dreamland. Until tomorrow- xoxo, angela

ps.. i love my life. i mean i love, love, love my life...
